Summary

The NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) has issued a Future Business Opportunity (FBO No. 26LBS071) notice for an upcoming procurement for the supply of combat rations. The procurement covers both wet and dry food packed for individual and group use. The rations are divided into five types with estimated quantities: Type A ‘general purpose individual operational rations’, 9,600,000 units; Type B ‘special purpose cold climate individual rations’, 8,810,000 units; Type C ‘group rations’, 31,000 units; Type D ‘emergency food, very long shelf life’, 175,000 units; and Type E ‘emergency/survival rations’, 780,000 units. Requirements are based on the AMedP-1.11 / STANAG 2937 standards. ISO 9001 certification is required as the quality assurance level, with further requirements to be specified at the RFP stage. Eligible supplier and manufacturing countries are all NATO countries, as well as Austria (AUT) and Ukraine (UKR). NSPA intends to establish multi-year Outline Agreements and plans to award multiple contracts per ration type. Registration in the NSPA Source File supplier register is a mandatory prerequisite for submitting a bid. The RFP is tentatively expected in February 2027, and the notice deadline is listed as 26 February 2027. This FBO is published for information purposes only and does not constitute a request for proposal or a commitment. The detailed technical specification and additional terms will be published with the formal RFP on the NSPA eProcurement portal and are not covered in this summary.
